Few days ago, there was a volcano eruption on the Iceland. With a large quantity of ashes and fluid magma, it has caused the disruption of many flights in Europe. However, it is still too far away from our lives, right? If you think in this way, then you are wrong.
On the one side, volcano eruption may affect our climate. A statistic shows that if the volcano keeps erupting, the ashes will spread to the whole globe and affect the climate – the temperature may drop. This phenomenon has happened once in Indonesia; the ashes with sulfur dioxide floated to the stratosphere and integrated with water, forming the acid fog which spread to the whole earth and leaded to a year 1816 without summer. So, this time, we can never confirm that whether these ashes will influence our climate.
On the other side, it may influence our economy also. Some economists point out that long-period influence will cause inconvenience on transportation and livestock’s unhealthiness. Then, the European’s economy may become depressed and affect Taiwanese’s investment and trades. In conclusion, volcano eruption of Iceland may affect both climate and economy. It means that it is an affair concerned by all of us and we should not keep ourselves out of this event.
